Pretty cool post about coding music synthesis on the NES, and assemblers, and such related things. Low-level programming is one of the first things that got me really excited about what I could do with computers; writing like this gives me back some of that excitement while reminding me of why I’ve ended up far better at theory. I can’t imagine knowing all these things about the NES, let alone a (newer) machine I’m actually interested in, or more than one.
And computer music is always cool.
