This is perfection.  let’s all say it with me: Whiteness is a structure, it accomodates various groups over time, giving them the title of “caucasian” in order to maintain a white majority because white has nothing to ground it but our own social imagination.  we can not define white because there is nothing to define but power.  

Interesting. I’ve never looked up what the deal was with “Caucasian”.

The Caucasus is where a number of controversial semi-independent states like Chechnya and Ossetia are.  There are three entire language families in the area with no known connection to foreign languages, let alone Indo-European ones.  Predominant religions are Islam, especially Sunni, and Eastern Christianity.  There’s a major Islamist terrorist/independence group called the “Caucasus Emirate”, even.  The whole area has a long history of war, nowadays partly because of, yes you guessed it, lots of natural resources like oil.

Just putting this stuff here because I think it’s an interesting region, and it has very little to do with WASPs culturally, as far as I know.
